1. What brought you to Ganbatte and what keeps you here?

I started CrossFit in January 2010 before Ganbatte (and all local CrossFit boxes) existed. In April 2011, I ruptured my Achilles and spent months in recovery. By the time I was ready for crossfit-style training again, I googled "crossfits near me", and several new ones had popped up, including Ganbatte. I researched all of their websites, and Ganbatte's website did the best job of explaining its approach to training and building community. I tested Ganbatte out, and immediately liked it enough to stay. I never felt the need to test out any of the other local CrossFit boxes. As far as what keeps me here? Kristin Winn – my goal is to be as strong as her someday.

2. If you were to make your own bench mark work out, what would it be?

Treating the 7:30pm class out for drinks at the local watering hole. I would call it the 

"Sandbagging with Drinks" WOD.

60 min AMRAP “As Many Rounds (of Drinks) As Possible”.  

Group warmup with a round a shots.  Then, settle into the bar, socialize with your fellow Ganbatte peeps.  

Time cap of 60 min to prevent you lushes from doing too much damage.  

Rest the liver.  

Repeat the next night – different bar.

3. What skill would you want to master in time for a zombie invasion and why?

Rope Climbing. You all know that I can't climb a rope to save my life.

4. My Proudest Moment:

When I showed up to Ganbatte after happy hour having consumed 4 glasses of rye whiskey on the rocks, and quickly made the coach play my "WTF by Missy Elliot (feat. Pharrell Williams)" Pandora station, and then twerked with the poles of a weight cage and a bumper plate stack. I've shared the video evidence with many a friend and foe alike.

5. Ganbatte as a verb and how do you enact on it:

Verb = "Fraternize". I really just pay the membership fee so that I keep getting invited to Ganbatte's fun social events. It's like my country club. Haha.
