1. What brought you to ganbatte and what keeps you here?
 
Growing up I didn't know the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods.  I grew up developing unhealthy eating habits and was a little bit of a slog growing up. I didn't see the need for a change until breathing and sleeping became a challenge. In addition to my unhealthy lifestyle I noticed that I wasnt the only one going through this, but the most important people in my life.... my family.  I decided that something had to change.
 
Before Ganbatte I was at my worst. I weighed 315 pounds and was still growing. My sister Maggie and my brother in law Chris both started Crossfit years before and always told me about it. I have seen them grow within the ganbatte community. Watching their bodies evolve. Getting stronger and faster through out the years. Their motivation and dedication in wanting to get better not just for themselves but for their daughter Camilla inspired me to do the same.
 
For my 24th birthday Maggie and Chris got me a month membership at ganbatte to try it out. It's been a rough journey. -  I've made several mistakes and continously making them. I will have my moments where I get back into my old habits. I start making excuses for myself and justifying why I decided to eat the "unhealthy stuff". I constantly have to remind myself that I'm not doing this just for myself but for my family.
 
This journey / part of my life I fully enjoy. I have never been so comfortable in my skin. I'm more confident and have a better understanding of my body. I feel like I'm a whole new person and have never been so much closer to my family.
 
I never saw myself as someone who can inspire others, and I'm so glad that I do. Its the people around me ( my family and my ganbatte family) who inspire me to be better.
 
Side note : I crossfit because I also want to beat Chris Verdin on work outs

3. What skill would you want to master in time for a zombie invasion and why?
 
Pull ups/muscle ups and/or anything kettle bell related, because those things are cannonballs

4. What is your proudest ganbatte moment?
 
Over the last year I've had many proud moments. Murph, the CrossFit open workouts, the many PR's and my weight loss. But my most recent and proudest moment is seeing my dad at the finish line of my first 10k race! My families support has been everything, but my dads support makes me proud of my drive and determination.

5.  Ganbatte as a verb and how do you enact on it?
 
Ganbatte, "Do Your Best" is something I remind myself to do everyday. That anything is possible! As long as I set my mind into it. Work hard for it and constantly GANBATTE!
