Ganbatte Athlete Values

Crossfit Ganbatte was founded as an environment where like minded individuals push each other to bring out the best version of themselves - a place where ordinary is extraordinary.


To do this, we cultivate and support athletes who live out a common set of values. We are a community, but we also recognize that any community begins with individual commitment, motivation, and mindset. These values brought us to the box and keep us coming back to the box, but we carry them with us far outside these walls. 



Ganbatte Athlete Values


#1: Goodness, Not Ego

We each came here for different reasons; those reasons don't include preening in front of a mirror. Ganbatte athletes strive to be better versions of themselves . Ganbatte athletes are inspired to put their best feet forward, no matter the circumstances.


#2: Helpfulness

We don't strive to be better just for the hell of it . We do it for our loved ones, our friends, our neighbors, and even the newbie working out in the corner. We always try to pay things forward, recognizing that embracing an ethos of selflessness fosters an environment of support and trust in and outside of our walls.


#3: Learning

Improvement comes with time, effort, patience, and practice. It also requires openness and willingness to change. Everyone -- no matter how experienced -- has something to learn. Everyone -- no matter how green -- has something to offer. Ganbatte athletes are open with their perspectives and generous with their knowledge.


#4: Disciplined Clarity

We thrive on hard work. We may not say it every day, but we each know what we want to achieve. We set goals -- specific, measurable, and realistic goals -- and we stick to them. We support one another in charting out plans to meet those goals. And we don't wait for the goals to come to us. Ganbatte athletes work hard- we relish pushing ourselves to the edges of what we know we can do. And we do this while practicing mindfulness, calm, and composure. We know that we can be our own worst enemies by getting distracted, upset, or frustrated. We strive to live in the moment, remaining kind and open with ourselves at whatever level we may be.


#5: Humility

We respect the wisdom of our bodies -- when to chase, when to taper, and when to heal. We acknowledge and expect that setbacks will come our way, and when we do, we remain positive. Ganbatte athletes practice quiet resilience.


#6: Humor

We are lucky to do what we do. We don't take it for granted. We aim high and work hard -- and recognize we look damn funny grunting through our WODs. Ganbatte athletes smile early and often. Through humor we can change people around us. Its what binds us together
